Pismo & Avila - January 31

Just a few photos from my recent Pismo turnaround...

My mom Betty just relaxing on the pier...watching the ocean.

At the entrance to the pier, looking westward.

Looking toward Port San Luis from Avila Beach. That's the new Avila Beach pier.

An older sea lion that resides under the Port San Luis Pier.

A harbor seal coming up for air.

A gull skimming the waves at sunset...Shell Beach.

A small group of pelicans not yet migrated to Mexico. That may be a sea lion in the wave.

A big sister giving her little sister a boost.

It's always a pleasure heading down to Pismo. It was very cloudy and cold when I pulled into town about 11:30 am. By the afternoon, it was beautiful. The fog and clouds had blown away, the wind was light, the air was a bit cool...but, it was all totally cool! This time of year, the motels and merchants beg you to come visit. The rates aren't much better than spring and summer, but the crowds are gone.
